Vedic Mathematics: How to find the square of a number whose value is near 100? | Examite

We have to consider below mentioned cases
  1. For the number which is less than 100.
  2. For the number which is greater than 100.
For the number which is less than 100.
Consider the number is 98. Whose value is near 100, so the base value is 100.
Now (100 -98 ) = 2. So 98 is 2 less than 100.
We are going to follow two simple steps to find the answer.
  1. Multiply 2 by 2 which is 4. Put (04) as right hand side of the answer as the base is 100.
  2. Substract 2 from 98. i.e; 98 -2 = 96 at left hand side of the answer.
So, 982  = 98-2 / 22 = 96 / 04 = 9604

In the similar way,
                922= 92-8 / 82 = 84 / 64 = 8464

For the number which is greater than 100.
Consider the number is 106. Whose value is near 100, so the base value is 100.
Now (106 -100 ) = 6. So 106 is 6 more than 100.
We are going to follow two simple steps to find the answer.
  1. Multiply 6 by 6 which is 36. Put (36) as right hand side of the answer as the base is 100.
  2. Add 6 to 106. i.e; 106 + 6 = 112 at left hand side of the answer.
So, 1062  = 106+6 / 62 = 112 / 36 = 11236
Similarly,
                1092= 109 +9 / 92 = 118 / 81 =11881

Exercises:

1.
962= ?
2.
872= ?
3.
1122= ?
4.
1082= ?
